THE VISION

According to *Native American Indian mythology, the Thunderbird is a powerful spirit in the form of a bird. By its work, the earth was watered and vegetation grew, allowing communities to be built and thrive.

That is why this phase of re-development is called The Thunderbird Phase. This phase will only apply to the northern section of the project with the goal to re-invest in the property and create more business opportunities and a better experience for patrons.

With an attractive redevelopment plan, the property will be better positioned to respond to consumer shifts and trends.

In the “Age of Amazon,” we do not want to go the way of other local retail centers and regional malls. Shopping centers need to re-think and re-position as stores need to be sized appropriately and needs shoppers to be in close proximity in order to survive.

We want to see what’s worked at Kierland and Scottsdale Quarter and potentially apply it on a smaller scale here. The recent feedback that we have received from the community has given us a lot to think about as we begin long-term plans to secure the property’s future including the success of its important retail.

Woodbury Corporation is the owner and operator of Scottsdale Towne Square. An over 100-year-old, family-owned real estate and development company based out of Salt Lake City, Utah, Woodbury Corporation believes in investing in and building communities where it does business.

Throughout this partial re-development, Woodbury Corporation is dedicated to listening to and working with the community and creating a property the community can be proud of for generations to come.
